Code of Conduct

The Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority (MECA) is dedicated to creating a welcoming and secure atmosphere for all visitors. Our goal is to consistently surpass guest expectations by offering top-tier customer service. Attendees at MECA events or venues can look forward to high-quality service, a clean and safe setting, diverse food options from reputable vendors, and a professional, friendly team of staff.

All MECA guests are expected to behave in accordance with the law and respect the rights of others to fully enjoy the event. Conduct that is disruptive, offensive or abusive to fellow visitors is strictly prohibited.

All guests are asked to adhere to the following code of conduct:

  • Guests are expected to treat all individuals with respect, including fellow guests, athletes, entertainers, staff and referees.
  • Disruptive behavior, including loud noises or actions that interfere with others’ enjoyment of the event, is prohibited.
  • Alcohol consumption (where permitted) should be done responsibly, with guests maintaining appropriate behavior.
  • Offensive language, obscene gestures, throwing objects and possessing prohibited items are not allowed.
  • For safety and to ensure an event runs smoothly, guests must never enter the playing or performance areas.
  • Guests must follow all instructions and directions provided by MECA staff.
  • Any conduct that threatens the safety, peace or order of the event will be addressed immediately by MECA staff.

Guests are expected to consistently maintain appropriate and reasonable behavior throughout their time at MECA’s venues. Any failure to comply with these established standards may result in immediate ejection from the event or building, as well as potential consequences for future access.

Security Screening Procedures

For events at the arena or ballpark, guests must pass through metal detectors upon entry, and a clear bag policy is enforced at these venues.

Prohibited Items

Weapons of any kind, including lawfully concealed firearms, are strictly prohibited on all MECA-managed properties. Each of MECA’s venues may enforce specific policies regarding prohibited items and actions based on its unique needs and operations. Additionally, MECA, in conjunction with an artist or event organizer, reserves the right to add items to the prohibited list as needed for each event.

Accessibility

MECA is committed to delivering outstanding service to all guests, including those with special needs and disabilities. Our venues are fully compliant with, and often exceed, the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). To ensure a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience, we offer a comprehensive range of accommodations, including accessible drop-off points, entrances, exits, restrooms and seating areas. Please visit the below accessibility pages for each MECA property for more comprehensive or specific information.
